Replacement battery

I am about ready to replace my Optima Red Top battery after the insults of my alternator, attempted startups and winching the car up on the trailer etc., and relegate it to the winch. I am showing only 11.67 volts on the battery. That's after charging. Would it be better to go with a good deep cycle battery like a marine unit or would another Red Top be the order. My battery box is just the right size for the Red Top 10x7x8high. Would one of the deep cycles fit?? Your thoughts....

Bill,
I've killed enough optimas over the past few years......... I use odyssey now. Lighter, and more bullet-proof. Scott

I agree with Jack. Your optima is dead or dying. Should see somewhere around 13.5 volts. I've got an Odyssey PC925 and like it although if you want to spend a little more money Braille batteries are way light and work really well.
