RML #3

Ok, so here is the news. As of yesterday, I own Chassis #3 of the 5(?)' Ray Mallock cars from the early 90s. Currently white with blue, in race car presentation. A friend has owned it for nearly 25 years and now I do. There will be some (I hope) positive and helpful conversations about the car, an accident it had more than 25 years ago at a track in England, and that there is another #3 out there developed after the accident-hmmm? Doesn't both me! Car currently has a ZF tranny, and a Gapp and Roush small block fitted with a Ford Cross Boss intake and carbs. I will be taking the car back to a more street-able form. Lots to do. Making a list now. Need to decipher the file of receipts, etc. looking forward to sources, advice, and help. Right now after driving it, I can only classify it as an untamed beast. This might be the only thing I don't want change.

I've got more, but here is a tease.....

Been an air cooled guy my whole life, what I understand is the internals required that the valve covers be modded-an extra section added in, to give clearance to the special rockers. Plus to change the exhaust angle a spacer on the block is added to change the exhaust path to a less severe route-to 90 degrees from more of a circle? NOTE to all, the excitement of the deal caused details of the transaction to get lost.. I'll have the build sheets, etc, dyno'd at 475 hp..I don't have the graph and torqued paths..

Looks very much like Cleveland heads with high port plates.
Old school cool
As to the vintage build, I restore historic houses for a living. The old school is what I'm all about, well that and I'm old. I wanted some history and discovery. This isn't the RML car crashed at Goodwood I was told. Any RML professors out there, this car was at one time yellow and was black in the mid 90's. White originally, IDK.

Brian reached out to me and as I am regarded by RML as their unofficial curator / historian of the 5 RML GT40 cars I will be delighted to help him and any other owners out there of the marque.
