This is a new technology for the hybrid engines. It is however a different animal than the hybrids you have seen to date. The electric engines store their energy as electricity. This engines does it with an air compressor. It is also know as the Scuderi Air Engine. It uses paired cylinder technology. One, of the paired cylinders is like the ordinary internal combustion cylinder except it fires on each rotation of the crank. Its paired cylinder is an air compressor feeding its sister cylinder. This method supposedly increases the efficiency of the engine from the mudane 20 or so % efficiency. Something that all the research over the past few decades has failed to do. Firing is after TDC which is very different. It lends itself to the diesel industry as well. This engine may have already been introduced. Anyone seen or heard anything about it?? Check it out and let us know what you think. I have known automobile engines since I was a teenager, and this looks very interesting. I don't know if it has any aplication to racing, but it looks interesting. I am sure some of you engineers will set us straight!!!!
