Service Bulletin ZF Shifter

Hi Guys, This applys to ZF equipped cars with factory supplied shifter. With sufficient force (and adrenaline) the VW/Audi retaining ring over the ball can break. Getting to this parts requires removing the seats and console. It all comes apart with 10mm and 13mm wrenches.


The fix is to fabricate or we can supply a plate to capture the bearing surface (center part) of the broken part. It controls upward movement of the pivot ball. The plate is tightened down enough to prevent upward movement without crushing or creating undue friction in mechanism. Will shift a lot better too.
