Side exhaust

My SLC will have side exhaust. I'm looking at the Hooker Blackheart Shorty headers, but I don't know if they fit. Instead, I could do the plastic mockup. Does anyone have advice on headers and exhaust design for side exit exhaust?

If it's a LS engine then the cheapest route is to buy the LS7 exhaust manifolds and add the mating flanges. It's hard to beat the performance of the LS7 manifolds. Only well designed full length headers will out perform them but cost a lot more money. The LS7 manifolds can be found for $150.

Thanks Ken. That's what Fran said also. Since they go straight down, I think it will be easier to shield the heat. By the way, I have been going through your posts. I enjoyed your driving videos. I'm also learning a lot from your build. I haven't driven COTA but I did watch the F1 race from turn 1 several years ago. Maybe I'll go there with Chin this year or next.

Rob, check out Grant’s build. He used the LS7 manifolds and made custom mufflers…
