SLC door fitment

Anyone have pictures of their final door install? I’m having trouble with them hitting in these locations. Would be helpful to know if I need to trim the door or if this is all alignment via the rods. On both doors the corner is hitting the front clam, the clam is all the way down on the alignment pins as well.

Kyle,

Check out Johan’s post #96

You need to trim the door corner significantly ... i had to remove a really sketchy amount of material but it's been fine for over 10yrs.

Alex.. Don’t cut your doors.. Review Allan’s videos on You Tube on properly setting the body to the chassis.. Then set your doors onto the vehicle without the hinges attached and figure out where the hinges are supposed to be bolted to the doors..

If Allan’s videos don’t help then drop me a line.. Did RCR pre-cut your body for you?

unless the mold was changed over the years you have to grind the doors to clear the upper corner ... the door 'digs' forward going up so you need a clearance there ... several of us spent a few months ho'ing and hum'ing about it a decade ago before we all came to the same conclusion and just trimmed the corner of the door.

I didn’t remove that much.. Mine still has a short flange in that area. See the last photo.

We’ll I’ve tried everything my patience will allow for. Trim some of the door, extended the heim, multiple positions on the nuts on the bolts. Nothing works.

I decided this long ago that the car will go to Allan when he has time. I don’t have the time, room or patience for that last little bit. When 90+ degrees in the “garage” and you don’t have room for body panels etc to move around it gets very frustrating.

I appreciate the help.

the doors are tricky beacuse of how many things you're trying to control at once (adequate clearance and good gapping) and how many variables there are (e.g., hinge plate holes in door, strut location on body, etc.). It took me ~4weeks before I was happy with how mine fit.
