SLC factory sway bars

When I was in Detroit last month Fran mentioned that he had been working on factory sway bars for the SLC. I was just curious if there is any news on this project.

My first track day is rapidly approaching and I have been thinking about how to address this part of my build. The rear is relitively easy but the front geometry doesn't lend itself to mounting sway bars as I have in the past.

I was thinking about that but the stuff you have on order sounds a lot better. I was also thinking about the adjustable bar on the front at least. I know it's pricey but it is proven to work.

As we have discussed in the past, it's just how fast do you want to go? In the end, the expensive, small adjustments will subtract small increments of time from the total.

There are a lot of very fast cars at the track day events I usually attend. I have a WSC car to contend with this year.

I am really trying to stick to a budget but, damn, I hate to loose to these guys!

fran, i am curious, not questioning the design. is a sway bar not needed, no place for one? i don't think i've seen them as standard on any of the ultra lites.

I guess if we built Ultralites , we would not need them while airborn....

We build Superlites...

We have two bars styles available...for the street cars a formed steel bars...but for the wider race wheel set up and race set up we have blade style bars...cockpit adjustable if needed...

They are both an option and bolt on....

I have been looking at these type of anti roll bars for quite a while and I think it is the best solution for the rear. I've played with a few calculators and it's quite doable if you use multi setting arms with a few holes in them for adjustment.

The front is the more difficult of the two ends because of the need to clear the wheels. If you used these on the standard bar from RCR and made some tubing torsion arms bent just right it might work better than the ones that came with my car.

For now I have plenty to do to get it on the track, let alone making any new parts yet. I'll see how it works as is and go from there later. You can see what I've got on the car now at my build thread.
