Steering column washer?

Hi all

My Tornado steering column has a washer welded to the top part that helps keep the column in place and stop it sliding down into the outer column tube.

I want to use the same method on my new steering column but don't know if this is a special washer or the name of them. Can anyone tell me what these washers are called? I thought Tornado referred to it as a thrust washer.

I'd call it a thrust washer as well
