When I first started this adventure of a GT40 build. I bought a used 365 transaxle from a guy on the forum with a GTD who was putting in a Audi box. Now I thought what a great way to jumpstart my build by securing a transmission shifter, adaptor and save some money. The long and short of it is I should have bought a box ready to go from Southern GT. Now, many of thousands of dollars later I now have a UN1 and I am putting in a one piece main shaft and gears and a Quaife ATB into that box. The stock UN1 main shaft looks beefier than the 365. The question is can I put the UN1 bits that I am taking out and put them into the 365 for some kind of future project my son is dreaming up. I know the crown wheel is the weak point of the 365 but Mason it thinking a Chevy v6 mid mounted into a Karman Ghia coupe, ah the mind of a 20yr old boy with a eye to the classics...
