Visiting Utah/Arizona April 2025

Hi All. British GT40 owner touring Southern Utah and Northern Arizona for the month of April 2025 and will be in Lake Havasu City for the 'Desert Storm' power boat event event and street festival. Would love to say Hi to any owners of our favourite cars (any year, any model). I've seen videos on YouTube of several in the Lake Havasu area.
Best regards and Happy New Year.
Steve & Wendy.

Steve: if you happen to come to the Prescott, AZ area on your tour, look me up. I don't have a GT40 but do have the homebuilt Miura project underway and completed Ferrari 250GTO recreation.

I'll be in the neighborhood too, putting some miles on my other wheeled dependent:

We'll be out in the wilds of southern UT and northern AZ, with a possible jaunt down to Phoenix to visit family.

Joel- I will drop you a line separately in a bit. We may be down through the neighborhood.

Hi Joel and Chris,
Joel, as part of our month long tour from Vegas through southern Utah and northern Arizona, we will be spending 4 nights in Williams (gotta do the Grand Canyon) before travelling West on Route 66 via Seligman and Kingman and finally on to Lake Havasu. You are just down the road from Williams so I'll have a look at our plans. I would love to see the GTO.
Chris, we are flying in and out of Vegas. We will head up to Kanab for 5 nights (so we can visit Zion and Bryce Canyon and other hidden gems in the desert. We then head east to Page (for more sight seeing) and then down into Arizona staying in Williams. As stated above we are going drive the remaining stretch of Route 66 to Kingman. After a few nights there we head south to Lake Havasu City for 5 nights so we can take in the Desert Storm power boat event. The street party on Thursday 24th April with the main road closed off and all the boats on display should be fantastic. There are lots of videos on YouTube.
Your truck is very distinctive. You never know we may encounter you on a dusty track in the high desert of southern Utah.
Best regards
Steve (& Wendy)

Steve- Depending on your schedule, we may actually be in the exact same place at the same time- Kanab is one of our favorite places!!! I will PM you my email address and we can swap plans.

We were in that neighborhood twice last year and had a great time- vid from one trip in this post.

Would be happy to point you in interesting directions if you're looking to fill an itinerary.

Hi everyone,
Just returned from our mammoth trip and I would to say thanks to everyone we met up with. Particular hi to Chris Kouba who I spent the afternoon with in the very hot desert near Page. And also Joel & Jill Heinke who very kindly invited us to their home near Prescott. It was like we had known each other for years ..... the joys of kindred spirits!
Arizona was a revelation, everywhere we went there seemed to car meetings taking place. We even bumped into some guys & gals having a drive-out to the Hoover Dam. The lack of car regulation compared to the UK left me blown away. Everyone I chatted with just couldn't get their head round the rules & regulations we have in the UK. Do you think Mr Trump will let us move to Arizona?
We spent the last week in Lake Havasu City for the Desert Storm power boat event. Absolutely fantastic and it was 98 degrees !!!!
I may have to sell a kidney so we can do it again soon.
Thanks everyone
Steve (& Wendy).

Steve, it was great to meet you and Wendy and to host you for the day. If/when you decide to come back to the land of minimal car regulation (and beautiful scenery) please plan to visit us again. I hope the Cobra ride was memorable for you.

I'm clad to hear that you enjoyed your trip. We do have some great places to visit here in AZ and UT. Unfortunately, the trend these days in the UK and Europe seems to be to regulate themselves to death.

Hi Neil,
We had a fantastic time. I fell in love with Lake Havasu and the Desert Storm power boat event. I wore my '24 hour Le Mans - GT40' tee shirt to the street party and folk kept stopping me for a chat. Some guy told me he had seen a photo on facebook and they were calling me 'English Steve'.
Next year I should put the car in a crate and ship it over ...... now that would be fun.
Best regards
Steve.

Steve,

Having your GT40 to drive here would be the icing on your cake.

On your next trip to AZ, put Antelope Canyon on your itinerary. You will need to hire a Navajo Indian guide (easily done) since it is on their Reservation and you will be rewarded with a unique experience. Just don't tour the canyon when it is raining anywhere nearby. A few years ago two French tourists were drowned when they were swept into the canyon by flash flood waters.
