Was blind but now I see

I have been reading about racelogic TC and seems like a good investment. Any SLC's out there running this system, How hard is the instal, overal review?

Yep..the race car....an afternoon install and very easy to use....we ran with and without it during this season...we ran 12 secs a lap quicker in the rain without it , in practice but thats down to Ryans ability behind the wheel.
He was later able to tune the grip level from corner to corner with the adjustable TC ....worth while investment IMHO.

I was reading up on the Racelogic TC but the price got me wondering if it wouldn't just be worth upgrading to a Motec or Pectel ECU with integrated TC. With some of the turbo and ITB engine build possibilities I wondered if it would be a good idea. I've seen a barely used Pectel SQ6M for $4600 and wondered if it'd just be better to run with that instead of the GMPP (EFILive, etc.) ECU and Racelogic combo. Worth it or not?

not in my opinion for my car...we did what we did with the 01 car using the E67 GM over the counter engine management system and the Racelogic...total cost $2100

See the Daytona post too....E67 controller LS7 and 194mph....

I know many guys are going boosted etc etc ...and thats great but this car is blisteringly quick with less than 600hp....as it should be...

Over the last year when I was looking into the GTM I noticed some people were having issues with the cabin bulkhead/firewall not sealing well with the body and so fourth. Has this been an issue with any SLC's? Is there basicly a weather striping that seals the bulkhead to the body?

Also both the SLC and GTM have roof scoops. With the GTM it doesnt come functional and requiered custom work to make it feed air to the engine bay. Is the SLC's roof scoop functional from RCR or does it to require fabrication to make functional.

Thanks

The standard inner roof panel allows air flow into the engine bay....no custom parts needed.

The aluminum rear firewall has a fiberglass sealing strip (two actually) that gets bonded in pace once all the final bodyfitent has been done.

The body quality and fit looks top notch. If someone could please go into some detail on the gel coat and the buffing/ polishing process or post a link if it has been addresed already that would be great. Is the coat on par with a paint job or close to? It looks like there would be som sanding or grinding down of the mouling seems. Would this make a paint job a must to get a showroom finish?

Trying to visualize how it all works. I get the part about getting air to the back. Its the rest of the story that I want to understand. Does that panel seal well enough against the roof/body to keep other stuff. . . water & dust from the front, and engine compartment smells from the rear. . .out of the cabin? What if some rain gets up in there?

The inner roof panel is a single skin that gets bonded (if you choose) to the outer body along the door edges....so it is sealed from leaking, dust, water, small martial aliens and anything else that may inhabit California from leaking into the cockpit.

The roof line is sloped to the rear as is the inner roof panel...any water will run through into the engine bay....this is a vent/pass through not a snorkel into an airbox...so no issue there.

The rest of the story ,as you put it is upto you...firstly to decide what you want it to do and secondly make any changes you want....

You could always leave the scoop closed and use the inner roof panel to disguise the upper tubes of the cage...(its secondary function)....we dont have the roof scoop functional on either of the race cars....
