I’m not trying to be dense, but what am I missing? I got the low profile pan (12598186) and the Corvette mounts and the frame mount still has a huge gap. Do I have the right frame crossmember mount for the SLC?
Hi Jeff...I am Tom in Denver and I am about at the same place and have the same mounts....I will mock mine up today (I have an LS9) but maybe it will tell me something that I can share with you.
I had to add 1/2" spacers between my crossbar and the motor mounts in order to get the motor to sit level. It is detailed in my build log on pages 3 and 4. I do not remember if I also had issues with the oil pan hitting or not.
Can’t quite see the pan type you’ve got on your install, though I can see a snug fit with the crossmember. You have a Porsche (?) transaxle, so I’m not sure if leveling would work the same for the Graziano I’ll be installing.
My LS engine crossmember mount shows the vertical round tubing extending 2 3/4" past the horizontal square tubing. Your picture looks like yours is approximately 2 1/8".
You wouldn't be the first that received the wrong engine crossmember. If you purchased a OEM corvette oil pan and the OEM C6 Corvette engine mounts then it must be a wrong crossmember.
All’s well. I’m not insane, the standoffs were too short. A short email chat with Bill and we figured it out. He sent the correct part and everything lines up on the engine mounts.
