Will the GT Dash Fit Into a GT40?

Hey guys,

I'm new to this thing, so I must apologize in advance if this sounds like a stupid question:

Can I order a 2005 Ford GT dash and fit it onto a GT40 replica? Or does it depends on the replica manufacturer?

In a word, no. if you mean the entire dash/instrument panel unit, for sure not (the GT interior is wider) if you mean the instrument cluster only, yes with enough time/effort/money.

Why not use the "normal" dash that GT40 replica manufacturers use? After all, those are far more like the original than the Ford GT dash and the Ford GT dash was trying to pay homage to the original style.
