Yahoo - First Test drive

After tracking down a stubborn fuel leak and getting the air out of the clutch line, I took my DRB out for its first test drive - what a rush. Gear linkage was real smooth and the throttle response was great. Doesn't ride like my Audi but who wants too!

A few niggling little problems to solve and its on to the body. I plan to get it licensed before paint so that should happen over within the month.

Congratulations Colin - that first drive is the buzz of a lifetime !

Smart move to rego, then paint - I made the mistake of painting first, but after all the "fix-up" work which had to be done (& is still being done), the number of scratches now in the paintwork is a bit depressing. Many of them will buff out, but some won't, so a flow-coat over the whole car is probably in my future.

I also found the ride quite harsh at first, then I backed off the adjustable shocks to their softest setting & the car was a different animal ! I know the "go-kart" settings are there if I get onto a track, but the roads here in Sydney dictate the softest possible setting.

Good luck mate,

Peter D.
