05 Tracks Drive

As a HRT fan (boo hiss), i too agree that Murph was at fault. Great race though. HRT drove a very clever race. Stay out of trouble, drive within certain limits and be there for the sprint to the end with a car that can go for it. Lowndes should have creamed that race, but got way too eager early on and paid dearly for tagging the wall.

I would have thought that Skaife would have been penalised for driving through the wrong pit crew. They get penalised even if a wheel nut ventures out of their designated area, so this appeared far worse. Regards

Cars often drive through other teams pit bay to get to their own. They dont usually stop for service though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Scaife should get an award for funniest incident of the day.
Re the Balaclava incident, should not all drivers have been
checked before they grid up? Each team has its resident official.

Keep them coming Pete!

I'm sure you've got more of those type of photos /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bill.

Great photos Pete.

Due to family committments I'm still watching video from the day (I'm up to lap 8 of the final V8 race (Ingall changing his mind about pit lane!!!), but I didn't see your pic #9 on TV at all. She wasn't there when I went to the Gold Coast Indy a few years ago either....

I hope to make it back up there next year, and I'll look out for you.

Good luck Chris, I reckon that while you are playing the v8
music down the straight you will have time for a feed of prawns and a beer. So stick an Esky in the passenger seat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bloody good idea Pete. This event will be televised--so now would be a good time for SPONSORS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gifto give--and-- advertising material.
Advertising underneath the car will be at a premium /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
cheers

Flat Chat if you are looking for sponsers might I suggest you run the Black and White striped chassis - they'll be lining up!

Chris good on you picking up that co drive you will enjoy it.You have to be brave but you will pick up time the faster you take turn one.Brake as you go over a short white line on left of track.Keep a tight line at Southern Loop and after it, stay full throttle through to Honda. After next corner Siberia hold full throttle to start of Lukey heights.Lots of 'g' forces and car drifts.Find your best gear for Lukey and down to 2nd for MG (tight RH)From there right round to the straight you will
probably be able to hold the MX5 on full throttle with some drifting.I generally get into 4th gear coming onto the straight and hang on to the wheel with both hands as the sweeping corner ends and you can relax to check things down the straight, checking the Pit lane talent etc.I'd be there but the 40s fuel tank at 30l just won't last even half the distance.I may be able to get down to say hello, be good to catch up.

Thanks Pete, you are a most generous man /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gifand as Bud has suggested, could you locate the black and white chassied number 'cause I think he might be onto something there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Thanks for the info Ross--it's locked in--see you then /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

What a great track (Phillip Island) fast and long, the weather was even perfect--met with Ross, great to catch up as I had plenty of time for socialising due to a motor failure --5 mxs from Qld only 2 finished (broken valve springs, split radiator header tank, blown head gasket, spun big end bearing--hole in sump, piston buried into head trick and a broken gearbox) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif
My claim to fame> the only way to pass this bugger, was under yellow on the cool down lap /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif--now where's that whip when you need it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon_bs.gif
