GTD40 Ferrari P4 replica ??

P4replica, we can speak in PM if you want.

Olivier.
I did try to PM you. In fact, I know I did, but nothing showed in my message outbox afterwards.
I didn't receive any error message. The same happened when I sent a PM to Fran Hall, before.
Does this forum require a 'newbie' to reach a specific post count (say 10?) before he can PM other members ?

Holy smokes!!!!! That thread is 51 pages long and I thought the "F1 is boring me to death" was long.
Actually it's 63 pages long if you go to 'Last', Ron ....!

Anyone care to boil it down for the layman, i.e., non-Ferrari nut? I emailed that fellow who posted too.
Not me, Ron ....
I've had my say on this one, and don't intend to waste any more of my time on it.
I suggest, if you've got any sense, you'll keep the discussion out of your forum, too ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wrongforum.gif

63!!!! I must have missed something since I don't really know what it is all about. I'll read some of the thread.

P4 in Red thread? (Has some associated documents on it which are mentioned in that marathon thread on the other board). Fascinating subject though, but it has got very girly over the months.

No, not the "P4 in Red" thread here, but the P4 thread on the FerrariChat website. I never knew the threads existed, but apparently there have been many threads debating the history / originality / authenticity of car 0846. I am afraid I don't know enough about F cars to form an opinion, but apparently the debate got so heated over there members were banned, ejected, etc. from the forum. The current thread is seriously long, twisted, and would require hours to get through.

Heck, probably like a lot of folks here, I'd rather have a replica I can beat the daylights out of and race instead of something that needs TLC, heated rooms, and a lot of insurance.

Sorry, didn't know the post would be contraversial here. Just knew there was a lot of talk about it and lots of discussin on the replica/real 846 car but people might be intersted building P4 cars.

ACS was a french companie created in early 90s located in center of France (Correze) which doesn't exist anymore.

They assembled GTD chassis with a V6 PRV (Peugeot, Renault V6 engine). They sold their cars fully assembled and registered for road use. I didn't know they built a P4 replica on a GTD chassis basis.

€70 000 for this car is not a serious price ....
I checked up on this hybrid GTD40 P4 replica, recently, and it is still for sale (not surprisingly, given the previous asking price).

Unfortunately, I haven't yet managed to by-pass the very protective 'ZeGarage' salesman, Claude Moritz, to talk direct with the car's owner. In his most recent email to me, Claude wrote:

from 70.000 to 47.000 euros...what a discount!

This yellow has anyway a correct shape (at least from photos).
Paul, do u think the bodyshell was scratchbuild or can be an already existing one? (u know I love spyders..)

Still somewhat over-priced IMHO, Paolo.

See quote from Claude's email in the previous post:
"Une carrosserie a ensuite été commandé chez Noble pour l'adatper sur le châssis GTD modifié."

.... "A set of bodywork was ordered from Noble" - the tail section was then presumably reworked by A.C.S. to produce the 'pukka' spyder 'basket handle' tail.

The same GTD40-based Noble P4 replica is now being offered for sale by 'JCB Collection' for €42,000 Euros (but apparently Sans Moteur).

See: FERRARI P4 DAYTONA

"A P4 Daytona (sic) Replica with glass fibre bodyshell, a very high priced construction. This car, being sold without engine, could be equipped with either a Lancia V8 8-32 or a 4 cylinder Cosworth but we do know of a V12 Ferrari engine available through one of our collector friends."

Ciao paul:)
This gtd seems to have an even more correct body than Nobles (roof section..the same one for Fran's kit).
the only thing I really dislike are the gt40 wheels on a p4:confused: :D

As u wellknow I can neither think at this wonderful gtd p4 cause I am in Italy.

Paul....

Skett and I know each other from the P4 world and the teasing is two way....as you may expect from another Limey Bastard as my Yankee friends like to refer to me as....

The Prosport is a cool little car..one for sale on PistonHeads too..did you see the Gumball Rally R42 Spectre on Ebay UK???

I owned a Ferrari P4 replica- built by Neil Foreman with a Ferrari V 12 engine.I was then able to sell it through the good help I received from Skett- do you have his e mail address as I need to now make contact again with Skett and the purchaser whose details I have lost

Been years since this thread saw the light of day, but I must ask, does anyone know what hepped to Paul Skett and the websites that he managed, one a forum, the other the 'gallery' associated with the forum.

http://www.p4replicabb.com
http://gallery.chisbury.net:8080/gallery/

I was a member in good standing there, the only woman in the world granted a membership in that forum by the way... It was my handle at the P4 forum that was carried over to here when I joined....

I miss these sites...especially the photo repository website that held thousands of images of both replicas of all sorts and original P-3, P-4 and related cars... I have a recollection the last time I visited these sites over a year ago, that Paul was having someone else maintain the sites for a while....I now find them gone. Is there news sad or good about Paul Skett and what happened to the sites?
Thanks for any input you can share... Jennifer WhiteWolf-Crock
