Hello from Tasmania.

Hello everyone, thought it was time to stop lurking and join in.
My name is David, and I live in a place called Legana just outside Launceston in Northern Tasmania. At the moment I work for an engine bearing manufacturer,( I make flange bearings ).
I am not in a position to own a GT40,so my main interest is in building a scale model of one out of brass and aluminium. If I cant have my favorite car in the garage then I will have to settle for one on my shelf.
I look forward to being a part of this forum and wish everyone the very best.
Jacko.

Hi Tim,great isnt it,cant complain though, there was enough of a break today to mow the weeds out front of the house.
Not looking forward to tomorrow,my youngest boy is playing in the under 12s soccer grand final, and its forecast to bucket down.
Jacko.

David, If your metal models are really good, you might sell a bunch & purchase your 40! Welcome to the forum.

Hi David I am from Burnie. Good to see another tassie lad on the forum. Feel free to drop a pm if you want to call in and have a look at my gt if you up this way sometime.
Cheers
Sean

Thanks for the welcome guys,I may need to start making and selling models as my present job is looking a bit dodgy.
GTs in Burnie,Hobart and in Longford,I am starting to feel like the odd one out, lol.

I reckon in the population/GTs stakes (or population/forum members for that matter), Tassie must be top of the heap. :)

BTW I think there's another one in Launnie.

We should do a drive day sometime.

Tim.

David, welcome. I am just 13 miles from Launceston, Cornwall, UK!!
Enjoy the forum, it's a wealth of knowledge and nice guys.
Cheers

Welcome Jacko
You'll meet some great people on this forum. I have some scale model GT40's (18:1) as well as the RF replica. I found model MK1's not easy to come by (Is there a reason for that?). Drop me a line if you wish to contact me.
Tim there is one in Launceston and there is also another one (Black /Silver) in the Longford area so I guess pound for pound Tassie is right up there. The drive day sounds good.
