What is the fixture behind the driver's door, shown here on P1077 (Yamaha car)?
Is it a lock? Light? Quick door opener? Security?

It looks like a master power cut of switch. There is what looks to be a little red key hanging on a lanyard in the on photo.

That would be my presumption as well.
If the car is used in sanctioned competition, I believe that they may require an external power master switch due to the car not having open windows/access to an internal switch.

Hi,

Attached photos shows that it is a push button for the fire extinguisher and then some sort of pull cord for the electrical cut off.
