Just look at what we have now. Isn't that enough. No more slavery, no more racial bias, McDonalds and horsemeat, Kind of islamic President, More taxes for all of us that work and try and get ahead, more welfare for those that sit at home collecting welfare saying they need more, companies that still don't have to pay taxes because they have financial configurations that conceal taxes from the US(dems put the loopholes in FYI), Healthcare laws that will give more money to the government as penalties for not having insurance, which won't pay the hospitals that actually do the work, and gosh about a thousands more things that have you still not saying enough is enough.
I can go on, but I am already been screwed.

As in any discussion such as this one, for every point, there is a counterpoint. Supreme court gutting campaign finance laws, risky banking rules be rescinded, rollbacks of what should remain local discrimination laws from state and Federal levels (isn't conservatism about getting Federal and/or State government OUT of our lives), etc. So...nothing new here but more whining.

No more slavery? That statement alone implies that this is a "score" for the liberals. Really? Humanity dictates it should have never been conceived in the first place. I suppose in your mind woman's rights is another score for liberals rather than a score for overall human ethical behavior. Correcting atrocious behavior should be everyone's goal, not just left to the "liberals" to correct.

So, 'twould appear what's deemed "atrocious" by some is considered a 'holy grail' by others. Given that, it makes it kinda difficult to root out all of the "atrocious behavior", doesn't it.

Well, I and over 90% of the UK would deem that a woman has the right to determine what happens to her own body, and there ain't too many liberals left over here, according to the latest opinion polls!

Probably goes for the rest of Europe too..

Atrocious behaviour would be the bombing of clinics.. "America's Forgotten Terrorism" (IMO)

You know, Marc's post pretty much sums up what is wrong with the US right now, and what frustrates our UK friends about American politics and this message board.

It's dumb, it's ill informed at best or ignorant at worst, and it is designed to hate on/divide people into political camps. It's not worth a point by point rebuttal which would be -- David is correct -- boring, and more importantly a complete waste of time as it would be completely lost on the Original Poster.

That's not what the paddock is supposed to be about, but this guy, Larry, Lonesome Nutjob and Al seem to think it is A-Ok.

I can't for the life of me understand what drives people to get all political on these kind of forums, especially as US politics right now ranks amongst the worlds greatest unsolved mysteries. It only ever has one unfortunate outcome.

Divisive? - Certainly.

Comprehensible? - Not at all, at least by anyone outside of the US.

I think it stems from their belief that "everybody thinks like me, how can they not" so they truly don't get how offensive their posts are to folks like me, or Jim or Terry or others who do not agree (and none of us start crap around here).

I agree with with you on the "don't like it, don't read it" concept except for one thing. I've had friends -- black, white, from outsie the US -- read this forum and have been shocked at some of the things the right wing contingent has posted and said. To the point they don't want anything to do with the is board.

To me, that is just sad, that the politics of one car enthusiast would be so vitrolic to run off others who might want to participate here.

But here's the thing: You can choose not to if you want. and that's especially true on a CAR FORUM filled with car enthusiasts from around the world who either (a) are pretty offended by right wing American nutjobs OR (b) are bored to tears and angered by the constant back and forth here.

Please. For God's sake. Just stop. If you want to talk politics, go to a political forum and do it there.
