NEW MOVIE TRAILER

I must have missed the bit where Ford asks a small English car designer / constructor to build a Le Mans car for him. Maybe that scene is on the cutting room floor?
The movie is about beating Ferrari at LeMans. Let's face it, the results weren't exactly stellar before Shelby became involved.

The car was developed incredibly quickly, so it's hardly unexpected that it would require some development. Broadley wanted an aluminium tub; Ford said steel, and the heavy car was hard on its brakes and broke the weak Colotti transaxles in the early races. The too-high nose, mimicking the Mustang show car, contributed to front-end lift. And so on. But you know all this, I'm sure. I was just pointing out, in what I thought was a tongue-in-cheek way, that the movie will most likely portray Shelby as the guy who designed the GT40, when that really isn't the case. Because Hollywood.

All that said, I'm still taking my son to the movie when it comes out (and I'll keep quiet about "historical inaccuracies"!).

Who is going to be spending October re-reading "Ford vs Ferrari"? I'm moving it to the top of the pile for reading.

I would suggest reading "Go Like Hell" as it was the source of the film script. Also Leo Levine's "Dust to Glory", and then watch The 24 Hour War on amazon prime.

Information on Los Angeles premiere. I stumbled across this today, and the timeline is good, the premiere 11 days before it hits screens nationwide in US. But I am too uncomputer savvy to figure out how to reach the issuers of the passes. I am willing to trade three 11" x 17" prints of fine art paintings of Cobras, Shelby, etc. for each pass. I need two.
Any clues appreciated. Even if I don't get passes, will go to premiere to take pictures, need location, I am predicting Westwood, near UCLA where many movies premiere.

In regards to the movie being based on the book Go Like Hell, as was announced back in 2013 in papers like the Daily Mail (when Tom Cruise wanted to play Shelby)
and I quote the some of that story from the Daily Mail. I wonder if the contract had something 20th didn't like, that they didn't notice until they got closer to production, so they thought we don't want any part of this? Say for instance, the book author's approval over the script; over casting, etc.

Buckle up! Tom Cruise is in talks to return to his Days Of Thunder roots by starring as racing champion Carroll Shelby in a film version of Go Like Hell

Tom Cruise has the need for speed... again. The actor is in talks to return to the territory of his 1990 hit Days Of Thunder by starring in another car racing movie, according to The Wrap.
On Wednesday the site announced the film would be based on the popular book Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans.
Though The Wrap claims Tom would play Henry Ford II, a source tells MailOnline that the actor is interested in stepping into the shoes of Carroll Shelby, a charismatic former racing champion turned engineer.
