GT40 Owners In The Greater Detroit Area?

Hi GT40 brothers & Sistahs, while I won't take delivery of my Bucket List SPF GT (P2522) until spring (hopefully) of 2025 I would like to see if there any owners in the greater Detroiit area, would like to meet and check your baby out. I hope I'm posting this on the proper forum, if I have been bad in this area please let me know and I will accept the spankin that's due!

I guess I'll be the first then. She will look very similar to below...

I like the dark blue Gulf livery. I am considering that for my soon to arrive RCR40 kit. If all goes well I might get it on the road by this time next year.

I'm hoping to have an RCR on order in the very near future...so would love to know who all my neighbors are! Rod spent quite a few hours showing me his in process a couple years ago, and then just last weekend including an awesome drive!. Just deciding on the final specs to get it on order.

Sounds great, I saw Rod's beauty just before the Woodward Dream Cruise, it sounds healthy. Where are you located XX, we are in St. Clair Shores, MI.

Rod is very friendly and was open to showing off his work, and answering questions, while I am currently building my own - thanks.
Livonia, MI.

Hi Dave,
I am in Southfield. I am currently building a GOX monocoque, an exact replica with FIA HTP papers when completed. You are always welcome to come by.

Hi Darnel, thanks for reaching out, from your photo it looks like you have some serious skills. I will DM you. Dave

Correction, my SPF number is P2505, I have received factory photos of her just out of the paint booth below

. Should be a fully complete roller ready for shipping this week. Will post those photos for anyone interested when I receive them.

Hi again folks, I have just received these finished roller photos of P2505 from the SPF factory on it's shipping frame prior to loading in the shipping container with 3 other cars for the approx. 3 months shipping to the US. Since shipping through the much shorter Red Sea route is no longer an option (F_cking Houthis), it now takes 3 months to travel around the entire west coast of the African Continent to the US. I decided to option the full leather interior as opposed to the standard Alcantara. Wheels & Avon tires go on when the car is unloaded and the frame removed.

Looks great but that is a long shipping time.

SA to U.K. is about 10 - 14 days and that is up West Africa…….we just had a consignment from Australia via Singapore, around Cape Town and into the U.K…total 50 days

Of course if that is to West coast USA then yes the days clock up quick

Hi Ian, yes, it does sound like a long time to me as well but I have no prior frame of reference. I do know the ship will make more stops than just a straight shot to the US, maybe it stops in the UK for a pint or 3! I hope you are right, I plan to start sleeping in her for at least the first month or so when she arrives! :) D
