Glass rear window for RCR 40?

Looking to see if anyone has a supplier or contact for safety glass rear window for an RCR gt40 or has had it done before?

I could be talking out my arse here but its flat glass. Bring it to any glass company and they will cut you a piece using the actual plastic piece you got from RCR as the template.

The SPF glass is flat. Have no clue what RCR used. But more than likely flat as well as I've never seen a curved bulkhead.

My RCR had a glass rear window (talking about the window directly behind the seats) and it was perfectly flat.

I am trying to think of advantages to using glass instead of polycarbonate and can’t think of any. There are probably better quality polycarbonate materials available, i.e., hardened surfaces, film coated, etc. I would be concerned about the weight of a suitable glass window in the rear clam.

I’m more concerned about yellowing and scratches over time. I’d rather have glass, hopefully lightweight enough for the clam shell but durable.

Lexan Extrite2. Hard as glass. The 2 indicates it is coated on both sides.

Sounds like it fits the bill. I haven’t removed the plastic or LEXAN or whatever rcr has on the rear clam yet. Is it a flat sheet or does it have a bend in it?

when i ordered my tornado 40 , i whent with a rear glass not acrylic.
i was wrong, the glass started to crack ,
my question is , is it possible to cut the rear glass out of flat polycarbonate?

The SPF rear clam window is glass - curved/shaped to body contour. Bonded to the body lip depression. The body is plenty heavy already. The fact that it is glass makes little overall difference.

I have AK Supplied glass for rear clam and mine is curved .

Acrylic will yellow, polycarbonate (Lexan) should not.

All rear glass windows have a 1" curve in them

We have supplied hundreds of them over the years for all makes of GT40

We also supply a curved plastic rear window

Everybody else only supply's a flat plastic rear
