Thanks for feedback. Will try to find out more about Daytona float valves. Strange why it happens on BOTH primary and secondary, only at 6psi, not at 4psi, and did not happen week previously on engine dyno. Could it be anything other than both needle/seat assemblies?
Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest what is wrong. Carb? Or fuel system?
I have different pumps on either side of the car. I am using AN8 hose throughout. On left tank I have a 100 micron prefilter into a Walbro GSL392 255lph feeding into an Aeromotive regulator (which returns the the...
Tecomotive are now saying this -
Tecomotive CWA400 Link
Has anyone managed to confirm or deny if it is possible to control the newer CWA400 with LIN bus by using the Davies Craig controller?
A couple of years ago I had similar runaround with these and other 'specialists'. I finally found these people who came to the rescue. Yes they used the (made up) chassis number. https://www.msminsurance.co.uk/personal-insurance/motor/kit-car-specialist
Hi. I'm looking for a rear spoiler for Mk1 in UK. Like this one (CAV Canada). Or with slots for adjusting.

Anyone got any suggestions where to get one in the UK please?
I already have a request in to Andy at Tornado...
Very old topic, but I can't find any further confirmation. I would also like to know what is the white light for? Is it indeed for radiator fan? Thanks.
Hi all
Long time ago I bought one of the 'OEM' GT40 Moto-Lita steering wheels. (I know, I know, it's not original because of the name etched into it....) Now it's time to try and fit it.
Oh joy! Unique PCD - 78mm.
The boss on my steering column is 70mm PCD and I have a horn push badge kit which...
At last good news. GT40 Australia/ DRB #52 is finally registered. It has been a long time coming and hopefully will be out on track on a regular basis soon. Unfortunately I don't think I'll make it to Philip Island.
I did have a shake down 4 years ago at Mallory Park -
Unfortunately the old...
Hi Steve. Thank you. Actually my second 40. First was sold before ordering this one. It's still around, now in Finland.
With regards the MOT, I screen printed above the details of a more normal new car. It shows 'No results returned' and First MOT due = 2 March 2025.
But my car shows 'No...
Hi all. AT LAST my DRB has IVA and Registration, with new 22 plate. Only 19 years in the making.......
I believe it is the only DRB in Europe. Let me know if you know otherwise.
I have a query about the date of next MOT. When I look up my registration on the gov.uk website, I see this -
and...
Congratulation Brett, and Mrs Brett. Great name!
I thought I would get more time as the kids got a little older, but it hasn't happened. Now the 12 year old needs ferrying round everywhere!
So get back in that garage NOW!
Thanks Big-Foot
Vacuum is around 8 at idle and currently power valve is 6.5 which we know is too high, hence going to put blanking plug in for testing. Long term we will try 3.5 power valve but want to get idle/ part throttle sorted first.
Replacing with smaller (say 750 or even 600) is...
Hi all.
Getting very frustrated with the carb now having spent many hours working on it and also reading up on how to set up, how to rebuild, how to diagnose etc etc so hoping you guys can help out.
I'm having troubles getting current carb which was supplied with engine about 8 years ago...
Adrian and Thomas
Edward has it right. Check again with the firing order specified by edward. Every other number in the sequence gives 1467 and 8352. Adrian - you have 8325 which is wrong.
But don't be too worried. The original order for real 40s (also copied by many replicas) is also...
What material to use?
Hey Clayton. Don't worry. As far as I can tell 99% of all GT40s and replicas have got it "wrong", so wrong is actually right, as Jac Mac says, if you got it "right" it would probably upset the FIA. I am starting to work out what to do for another attempt at sorting out my...
I also see in the thread http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tech-engines-induction-exhaust/35127-2-headers.html another very nice set of pipes which have not followed the old drawing. Again it appears that the order on the right hand bank has been 'corrected' so that they rotate, and the left hand...
Hi Clayton.
Very nice set of pipes, but I am still a little unclear.
It appears you swapped both sets of internal crossover pipes to keep symmetry. 6 and 7 have been swapped to fix the right hand bank. So your right hand bank appears to use 1467 which rotates. Fixed from the standard 1476...
