Do i need an IVA as i have a V5?

...to date with current regulations. This is absolutely do-able but will require lots of modifications and if it passes it will be allocated a Q plate (because you won't have all the receipts and certification for the parts used. I have no knowledge regarding how the IVA regulations are applied...

Hi: Any recommendations on a performance clutch: 10.5in Ford 10-spline 1 1/16 input for use with a stock LS7 (~505hp) and ZF-Q (in an RCR40)? I'm thinking SPEC Stage 2+ pressure with single Stage 3 friction plate.

    Chuck's Jaguar D Type Build

Knobs and Switches The switches originally found on the D Type include headlights, side lamps, panel dimmer, push to start, and ignition key. Pretty simple. But it took many hours finding original looking parts. Current registration requirements in most states require wipers, horn, turn...

    Iva certificate

It’s just for registration purposes. Some cars (usually Cobras) are registered as the year of their “donor”……this can be as little as steering column, rear axle, front uprights and brakes. For a brand new registration, the car has to be built of all new (bar one) parts. Used parts will saddle...

Registration of a new build GT.

That's what I suspected. Such a shame to have to put a 'Q' plate on that.

"As far as IVA is concerned you are allowed one component which is not new so used both engine and box will get the dreaded Q plate." o_O

Most have the engine block as their one "not new" component. As long as any parts you use to rebuild it are new you keep all receipts to prove it and you have a new or new old stock gearbox, again with a receipt in case it is required, then you will not get a Q plate.

Registration of a new build GT.

Hi Simon, If your car has not been registered before it will have to go through an IVA test. To pass it will have to conform with a lot of regulations. When it passes you will be given a certificate which the DVLA will need before it can be registered. If you have no bills for the main parts of...

.... And you have to have proof of newness of parts used on the build ... If going age related you will need a logbook to prove age of used parts ; If you cannot prove age of parts you will get a Q plate . I hope this helps Marcus ... Im sure someone will be along to explain in more...

IVA assistance, how are reconditioned engines viewed...?

When I went through SVA which was before IVA they wanted receipts for all major parts. Chassis, body, engine, box, brakes etc. They stamped the receipts and returned them with a 06 registration plate. i had a pile of about 5 inches of receipts, for bolts, riveto, fuel and water pipes, radiator...

Hi those were older type bulbs and pretty useless (light a candle to see if they are on!) ...is now IVA). As far as IVA is concerned you are allowed one component which is not new so used both engine and box will get the dreaded Q plate. Usually the engine is the most usual used item. The emissions needed at IVA (and which will stay with the car for the future) depends on the age of...

Registration of a new build GT.

For road registration I would suggest that avoiding a Q plate is essential as they are like the "black spot". As the chassis is a Ford original and has many original parts it is essentially a historic vehicle. I would suggest speaking to Ronnie Spain who will know the vehicle well. To get the...

...sounds most likely to be a 2nd hand rebuild. This all leads me to ask for your thought's about the above and how it all fits in with SVA test etc. Oh what I do not want to do is end up with a Q plate. Hope there is enough info for any of you to give me your thought's, thanks in advance, Doug.
