I believe it's a philosophical decision by the moderators to encourage us to think before posting because your words become permanent. Drop Ron a note for more detail.

It's just frustrating for a dyslexic (IOW - my own darned self) not to be able to correct errors that weren't caught before hitting "post", that's all.

Anyway, as a dual citizen of the UK (born there) and the USA, I am deeply saddened by the event.
 
Mike, I am also a dual citizen, I agree it is a very saddening event. I remember Dunblane (1996), I moved to California at the end of 2000. Each of these are horrific events with multiple contributing factors. Luckily, they are a rarity in Britain. Unfortunately, I feel a lot of people have become numb to these situations in the US, they are far too prevalent.
