I completed a bit of sanding on the main body this evening. I’m just cutting down some of the mold lines because I don’t intend to paint the car until this coming winter.
I’m working to rebuild the right shoulder of the main body. This area had about a 1/2” thickness of gelcoat and it broke away and the fiberglass splintered.

I recall a lot of air bubbles and very heavy gel in my body after baking it, leaving it in the sun for days and doing a coin tap. Unfortunately it always seemed to be in the most inconvenient spots to repair (Murphy at work). Not sure which type of gel was used but mine was prone to spider cracks. I used stiffeners in critical bends anticipating flexing to reduce spider affect. So far so good.
This past weekend I created a debris screen to protect my A/C condenser and radiator. I also continued filler work on the main body and center console.
I'm continuing efforts on the main body.. I need to button that up so that I can move on to various items that require the body be on the chassis.
My new axles will arrive soon as well. Thank you Driveshaft Shop..
I'm completing the final gelcoat on the airbox. Sanding and body filler for the main body is almost complete. I'm finalizing the fit of the center console.. So much to do and so much is left to do.
Yes, the box standoffs are attached to the rear wing supports which are welded to th spider frame. This is only mocked up but this is the final design that works with my street tail and full wing.
