I´ve been searching the net for information on the Audi 016 (in Germany known as the typ 44 or AAV).So far this is the best source I found with a lot of information.There´s more here than in any German forum on the matter! He mentioned that the G31 shares a lot of parts with the Porsche 915.My question is can the ring and pinion from the 915 be used in the Audi 016? I realize that it would spin backwards, that´s what I want because I´m building a rear engine/rear wheel drive car and the G50 costs too much.915 parts are fairly reasonable here although a complete unit goes for about 4000 dollars on ebay..
As far as I know the 924/944 and Audi 100/200(european model of the 5000) are the same transaxle with only difference being the gear ratios?
