What color did Ford use for the MK1 blocks?

I have read here on the forum and seen pictures that both black and ford blue were used. When Peter Klutt restored 1028 they painted the block Ford blue. He extensively researched the original build of that car.

1964 and 1965 Ford 289s had black blocks.
Starting in 1966, they were dark blue.
