Brighton Speed Trials

Been trying to persuade Wendy to go with the 40, but she is reluctant without me as crew! I think it would be neat if she did it, but she won't. I know Paul and Julian etc would look after her well. It's a shame it clashes with Britcar.

Nad and I are in, sadly not with the 40, but with the twin GTS Vipers. Malc, we'll look after Wendy for you, great to have another nurse in the running, they might get their own class..............!!

As Frank says - Get the entry in quick and you may still be lucky, but this event is one of those that fills VERY quickly and late entries are less likely to get in.

ALSO - whilst we are talking about Brighton speed trials - we intend to have a 'casual' meeting regarding next seasons competetive events. Brighton makes a great spectator event, so get yourself there to watch, or take part. I'll post else where as a reminder for the meeting to try to ensure we catch as many as possible....

So who else ? Roger ? JulianBW ? JulianKS ? anyone else ?

I'd also guess at:

Ray Christopher / Roy Wing in the Spyder

Dave Parker in the R42 (with a progressive Nos controller this time)

Martin Gough?? - go on, give it a go...

Robin Batt?? - might be a last blast before you sell it?

Andrew Fordyce?? - Mustang or E-Type to choose from...

Ian Catt?? - bringing his OMS Suzuki 1100?? (or going to Brands Hatch?)

Wendy MacAdam?? - go on - you'll get plenty of support from us..

Mick Sollis/Glen Mason?? - A Southern GT showing would be good..

Derek Bell?? - A showing of the GTD Lola T70 would be good too..

not forgetting the 'Master' Tony Marsh with his Twin Turbo GTD...

Anyone else....?

Wendy's entry has been accepted so is now a confirmed driver, I think the only girlie in a 40 this year as Martin and Mo are soon to be carless.

Re: Brighton Speed Trials 8th SEP

For those interested, the entry list for Brighton Speed Trials can be viewed here: THE FROSTS BRIGHTON NATIONAL SPEED TRIALS

Also - we still intend to have a 'brief' meeting at lunchtime in the paddock to discuss proposed competetive events for 2008 together with format. Anyone interested in competing, helping or who has something to say they think might be useful, make yourself heard this coming SATURDAY 8th.

I propose we commence the meeting about 10-15 minutes after the start of Lunch Break and so we are not wondering where it will be, I suggest near RED GTD40 reg - A11GTD - YEP - Roy Smart's Mk1......

See you there...... I hope...... The more the merrier!!

ps -

Who's gonna win??? any predictions????

We are at Brands Hatch on Saturday, ( Club championship event cannot miss ) with Ian and Dave Gibbins Lola. For all at Brighton have a great day, my monies on Rodger if he got an entry, Good luck guys, and Wendy. Frank

Paddock opens about 7am -

Practice starts normally about 9am -

Lunch is normally about 12am-1pm 'ish

our class (8) normally all over by about 4:30 - pm

Event usually over by 6pm as they are supposed to open the road then...

ps -
If anyone is thinking of going to Britcar 24hrs at Silverstone to support Malc - I have 2/3 spare tickets (FREE) as my nephews are not able to make it now. The tickets can be collected from me at Brighton, or I can leave at Silverstone Entrance post in a 'NAMED' Envelope for collection on entry. Altough I won't be there till late Sat night after driving up from Brighton..... or call me - (07771)868890 (I'll delete this number Sun night!)

QUOTE]

I stumbled across it in a local supermarket car park a couple of months ago not realising it was the same one, and waited to talk to the the owner. Got chatting with him for a while and it turned out he only lives a few miles from me (can't remember his ****** name though - doh!). Anyway, long & short of it is it appears Derek sold it some time earlier this year.

Cheers,

Max
