CAV for sale

Nice car! Looks like it might be a pre-mono chassis (tube frame) so probably produced before 2002 when CAV started making the mono chassis. Might be good to give some more information on the engine, particularly if it's a Roush engine as these are probably considered value-enhancing. Hard to tell what kind of transaxle the car uses but my guess would be 016 Audi.

Was it just my 59 year old eyes, or was it missing the rear window?

Hi, re: ??GTD, the above post is correct, that GTD in UK closed and ?relocated to S.Africa. Under Jean Fourie and John Spence, GTD cars were built by the newly formed
CAV (Cape Advanced Vehicles ), reminiscent of FAV (Ford Advanced...).
After they used up the material from GTD, they continued building CAV tube frame cars, but I think they always wanted to take it a step higher. Hence AutoFutura, responsible for the monococque car. I understand John Spence has ?left, and Jean Fourie remains one of, if not THE only DNA / surviving link from all companies.

My car is a GTD-CAV, and I know of two others in America, one serial no. away from mine each side. The car on Ebay is a GTD CAV tube frame car (at least the one that was for sale ending early September 2008).

I hope this is helpful.

Incidentally, my car just had the rear suspension uprights fitted by Ian Clarke, Burlington, ON (posts on this site) and I am very pleased with the quality of his work!
