Pardon me if this has been done before -- just can't find any reference to it ?

Any ways what are the pros using for CV boot bands and the tensioning device?

I have stuggled with my own cock handed methods --and if its not done proper like then the boot slips off and that greece stuff PITA goes everywhere

I've seen it done with stainless cable ties but seeing as the 'proper' tool is £25 (or ~40AUD, ebay item 250974027607 for example) I'm not sure its worth trying it.

I'd personally be tempted to try and borrow one from a garage for only 8 bands required.

This works well.

Best to put one on both the inner and outer ends of the boot. I've noticed that it can be helpful to slide the small end of the boot a little towards the big end (and then tie wrap it) so that the boot is a bit "compressed" - this discourages the big end from coming off the CV body.

The Aero style boot is also found on VW Kombi stuff
And those ones are the same bolt spacing as the Ford Granada units
