Does anyone have GOOD clear photos of the dashboard of an original Mark I GT40? We are going to (finally) label all the various switches using a machine that makes labels similar to Dymos... but I can't find a photo of an original dash that shows the, even looking through all the GT40 books I have. Which is most of them published... anyone have anything? Thanks!! Jim

Do a Google image search on "GT40 Dash' Jim. You should find lots of pics, such as this one of 1046 from WheelsAge.org.

Amazing that after all these years, Dymo label makers still exist and you can still get the label tape for them. Incredible.
Hi Jim,

I bought a 1970's DYMO 1710 of ebay to do my dash labels. Quickly found out it is the tapes for them that are hard to come by they are 6mm wide I think the newer ones use 9mm tape. Do not know enough about original GT40's to be able to say if they used 6mm tape, but I will do my best to spread the rumour they did if anyone ever asks me. ;)

Thanks to all!! We did get the dash labeled, it looks suitable homemade and period-correct. Photos will follow- car also now has four appropriately sized tires on it, improving its stance considerably. Now I am just praying for nice weather on June 6th, fingers crossed.

Hi,

I am interested in creating a 3D model of the 1966 GT40 MK2 dash for the purpose of slicing for 3D printing. Before tossing that on top of all of the remaining tasks in my build, has anyone done this or know if anyone has tried?

Looks identical to the old Dymo I grabbed from mum and dads house. It’s now sitting in the GT40 box for this future purpose.
