Door Hinges

Guys, researching door hinges. With so many replicas, it's become difficult to internet search pics. LOL. What do original door hinges look like? AND is there a better design door hinge out there if the originals have shortcomings? I mean the GT40 was a race car, I'm building a street car and I'd like things to line up repeatably.

 

The original hinge is a pretty simple affair, with a tube sliding through a corresponding tube bonded within the door. Adjustment is by loosening the nuts holding the upper and lower hinge mounts.

A pair of 3/8" to 1/2" spherical rod ends make a nice hinge, rotating on a piece of tubing. No problems with getting bushings to align properly.

Thank you guys. Interesting that it's just a rod bonded into the door. I see several of the kit manufacturers using the rod ends.

I run a tube bonded into the door. Rod ends and a long rod that can be pulled to take the door out.

Mine are 5/8"
