Does anyone have any experience with using '88 or later 'Vette rear brakes on a GT40 ?
For one reason or another, I ended up with these on my DRB, rather than the recommended '87 brakes.
The difference : The earlier units had a handbrake which operated on a mini-drum brake inside the disk rotor, whereas the later units have the handbrake operating on a lever which mechanically pulls the calipers together.
The problem : I have spent ages adjusting the later setup & am still not happy with it - too much "cable-pull" length required, too much effort required, only just meets the RTA regs of holding the car on a 17deg slope.
I need to develop biceps like Gov. Arnie to get the things to work ok ! There must be a better way (short of throwing a boat anchor out the back) !
Any ideas guys ?
Kind Regards,
