Unless you've built the car before and can fully visualize everything infront of you, or you have a fully stocked machine shop in your garage (which I'm getting the feeling some people on here do have  ), you will have those moments building ~any~ car.
Here's, for example, how my fuel went in my cobra
- okay, I'm all stocked up! (hoses, pump, regulator, fittings, etc...)
- Ooops; guess I should have bought all Aeroquip fittings, not generic Summit/Russel/Earls/etc... ones
- Ooops; guess I should hvae used only Aeroquip braided stainless hose
- Oops, why's my pump (Aeromotive external) leaking?
- Hey, why's my pump (Aeromotive external) leaking again?
- hey, why's my 3rd (Aeromotive external) pump leaking again?????
Or, for positioning my ISIS units, I don't want to just screw them down to the frame. I want to screw them onto a plate, and then bolt the plate to the frame (so if I have to remove it, I can quite easily). Since I don't have sheets of 1/4'' al laying around, or a cnc machine, I waddle over to my aluminum fab. place, give them the specs then wait a day or two to pick up my brackets.
etc.. etc...
Just all part of the game. Although I have found a popular saying to be true - excluding the price of (any) kit, figure out how much you think yuo'll need in extras, then double it, then you'll hit your target bangon
But in the end it's definatley worth the "hassle"
