The process has been interesting to say the least.

DMV.....

Congratualtions! you've done the hard part. I have a similar DMV story: I started at an obscure DMV branch in San Diego. Agent took all my paperwork, xeroxed it, send it to Sacramento and said they would call me. I knew that was wrong but didn't want to fight, so drove up to San Clemente where I know they know how to do this; got one of the last 2010 SB100 numbers; this was in late November!

Two weeks ago I got a call from DMV in Sacramento wanting to know why they had a copy of all my paperwork....:stunned: As they say "It's a good thing we're not getting all the government we're paying for."

The YOM plate may be a possibility. After all, our very own Iron Sheik has one on his GTD (see http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-cars-sale/33812-gt40p-you-choose-price.html)

Alan, the Sheik cheated to get his - I think he applied for a personalized plate with the data he found on a period correct plabe (eg. black / yellow lettering for Calif.) and just used that plate - - - i think.

The trouble with that theory is that there were no black/yellow personalized plates. Personalized started after blue/yellow started. I also think his picture has the digit after 40 photoshopped out.

Or, we could ask him. :blank:

BTW the gory details on YOM plates are described here: http://www.ply33.com/Misc/yom and here: http://www.oldpl8s.com/faqs.htm

(which I did not know about until after my previous post).
