Ford Camshaft Spring Rates??

Hi all -

Anyone out there using the Ford Camshaft pn - M-6250-X303 ?

What I'm interested in is required valve seat pressures - closed and open.

I called Ford Tech - but they only compared it to a similar Crane Cam, rather than be specific about required rates...

Any data would be much appreciated...

130psi closed, 300psi open
I can recommend a whole host of cams that will make way more power than that one.

Thanks Gordon - I spotted your other post and was going to mail you but you've answered my question.

I figured 130lbs closed and was estimating 350ish open, but was a bit shocked at what Ford suggested open - they mentioned 430lbs - - which seemed way too much for my liking. So I'll aim for 130/300-330 ish.

The cam is in an existing motor, and has proven fairly tractable, but the springing is definately 'light' at present (less than 60lbs closed) - so new springs are next....

Great to see you posting and thanks again - I suspect you've forgotten more than most of us hope to remember....
