Either the crowd are all standing on a platform raised up considerably higher than the GT is tall, or, that GT is some sort of GoKart or other scale model..

The spectators are high up on the arches, on the main road above Madeira Drive.

The '40 appears to be proportional to the van, the little pickup and the people on the other side of the road though, Randy.

Seem to remember they used to run speed trials at Weston super Mare (near Bristol) on the sea-front in the 60's and 70's
