Grant's SL-C Build tread

Reworked the dash made room for my rearview screen and stereo and radar detector. just have to lay down some Carbon fiber to match them up.

Grant

The dash is a work of art.

Very clean install on AC lines. Are those aluminum tubes? I presume you crafted those mounting brackets as well

Thanks Dan, No the lines are made from steel I had some tight bends and was worried they would kink plus running the pressure line through the inside of the front wheel well I figured it would take the beating better from the rocks and what not that will be getting kicked up at them.

I was going hold off till the car was all back together but Ken did such a Fantastic job painting I have to share.
The last photo was what it will do when the sun hits it.
as you can tell it is Candy Tangerine, the pic's don't do it justice.
Once it back together I will see what I can do to capture it properly.

Very nice. Did you use a silver or gold base? I have only sprayed the candy tangerine for one car, but man is it a great color! Slaps you in the face.

Hi Scott
it was three coats candy over gold.

Good choice. You can also simulate it with finishing with a coat or two of yellow candy to finish.
I once tried with a orange tinted candy metallic base. Didn't come close to the brilliance of starting with a pure silver or gold metallic.
The candies look wicked under the halogen lights of a nice indoor car show too.

We finally got the body back on the chassis starting to look like a car again.
Ken did a fantastic job finishing the body and putting down the candy.
The sun does some crazy things to it.

Real hard to take a pic of it and capture its true color.

Looks fantastic.
Can you tell me more about the rear clam vents?
That's not the stock street tail look is it?

I thought every one knew about the louvers already, sorry yes the louvers are from Fran, my mistake I thought you were referring to the ones on the very rear of the car.

made a bracket for the back side of the fuse box riveted on to the back with a bit of clearance it will mount to the bulk head. getting the fuse box open was a bit of a challenge now with the new bracket it gives you a good way to mount it.

Grant, how did you get the fuse box apart; what's the trick?

Thanks
