Hi Brian thanks for posting. It would not make as much as its sister car GT/103 that won the 1965 Daytona. It came third. But I would think in the millions of $ !!? Still a beautiful Ford GT.

Yes.

That is a standard GT40 race car interior. The GT40 road cars were a bit nicer. The race cars like this one are a bit Spartan inside by comparison.

What did Lonberger pay for it? Didn't he buy it directly from Ford? I know he was debating buying a 427 Cobra at near the same price (maybe $20,000 in the early '70s).
At that time Ford was practically giving them away, they sold one GT40 for one dollar! Finally has it ever been printed what Lonberger sell it for, what year and to what collector? It was restored in England by the way. I always wish the early cars have the '64 nose on them but I guess that nose lifted big time at 180 mph plus, lifted the front wheels right off the ground. If the car achieved something with the '65 nose I guess it's still historically correct to save it with the '65 nose.

Just to correct & conclude : the Larry Miller Museum in Utah is the buyer

Vintage GT40 added to Miller Motorsports Park museum

The Larry H. Miller Total Performance Museum also includes GT40 P-103 (currently undergoing a total restoration), GT40 Mk II No. P-1015 (second place in the controversial 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans), GT40 Mk IV J-4 (winner, 1967 12 Hours of Sebring), P-1074 (one of the three "Gulf Cars" that competed in 1968-69) and one of the six GT40 Mk III street cars, among others.
