How to see the whole topic when posting a reply??

Ron,

The new forum is a good improvement but how can you see the whole topic when in the middle of writing a reply? I can see the individual post to which I am replying but on the old forum you could review the whole current topic.

I keep finding myself having to back up from my reply to check the earlier comments.

When wanting to add comment to a topic, it appears to come out as a reply to the immediately previous writer, not as a general comment on the topic. This sometimes can then appear to be offensive to that individual rather than taken as a generalization. I have made comment that has been taken personally when this was not intended. Frank

 

Yes Frank, that's what i find - the reply is for each post not the thread as it appeared to be before. Maybe this is a configuration issue, but I hope Ron will see this and comment.

Only workaround I've found is to open a new window when you reply...click file, new, window, then hit the back button in the new window to get to the thread, then switch between open windows with alt-tab.

Same method I use.. The new forum s/w is much more flexible once you get used to it.

Fellows, as they say, that is the way the cookie crumbles.

I suppose you gotta take the good with the bad. We have a lot more features and can post pictures, something that I was thinking everyone wanted above all else.

Personally, I find this SW much better all around with the tiny exception of the placement of the reply button. But, I can probably finx that over time, I just need the time.

I've used other forums with this SW and the layout has been the same. Maybe I'm just used to it. Keep up the excellent work.
