J-19 Breadwagon

There is a NEW MK4 Bread Wagon J-19. There where two "Breadwagon" MK4s made. One was destroyed in a crash and the other in structural testing.
Now there is a brand new one. Built from scratch from plans by Kenny Thompson in Denver NC.
It is J-19. This is one of 6 scratch built MK4s built by Kenny. See next thread.

Ah yes, I think back then it was called "The J Car".

It was big news when it came out. People either loved it or hated it. I was in the loved it crowd. As i recall, it had a big, flat rear with large Murcury tail lights.

At the Le Mans test, all the drivers hated it except Chris Amon, who loved it.

Those pointed lobster claw nose pieces could be removed, bit I do not know if it ever ran without them. I dont think it never raced.

I'm not sure, but this may be the car Ken Miles was killed in at Riverside.

Actually unlike the other Ford big blockswith the Corvair tail lamps, the units used on the "J" car were 1965 Thunderbird lamps, lens part number C5SZ-13450-A without the chrome "doors" over them. Same lamps used on 1968-70 Shelby Mustangs.
