I just got this email from a marketer that I do make purchases from periodically.. They used to be known as Buy.com ...
It seems apparent to me that they are trying to tout Japanese products as those of "higher quality"... Much the same we used to think of all products made in Switzerland and Germany 25-30 years ago.. Not to say that Swiss and German products are of lesser quality as much as to say that I don't necessarily view Japanese made products elevated to that same level of quality...

Discuss - Do you think that Japanese products are of generally higher quality that they should be categorized as such?

I think they are better than the Chinese versions I've seen. The Japanese pieces have no noteworthy aspects, but the Chinese pieces (machine-work) I've see look like they were measured with a mic, marked with chalk, and cut with an ax. Electronics is a different story...they seem to be on par from what I've seen.

'Certainly is the case with cars. And who the heck else makes decent T.V.s...or electronics in general for that matter?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
