I have just completed some new major casting patterns but the quoted cost of foundry work is now prohibitive due to current UK energy supply costs.

Yes, but will you invest thousands to sell a dozen parts? Ask me how I know? Sadly, everyone on a keyboard WANTS the "perfect, original, correct" parts until it costs $3.00 more than the Chinese knockoff. Then, suddenly they disappear. I applaud Jimmy for the efforts he has expended to date.

I have never questioned the price of the parts that I have purchased on this forum, just sadly if you don't see the post right away most of the time the parts are sold already

Thank you, each and all but everyone who knows me will tell you that I very rarely sell parts, so not a loss.
The pattern and core box for a fast rack number / 6512 are almost complete and this will be my last foundry job.

My patterns for the steering rack are at the foundry and they are making up the boxes and cores for me this month.
We are probably casting these in LM25 with heat treatment and not in magnesium alloy.

I did post a query last week asking if anyone knew of availability of high spec hoses with a smooth finish.
The tumbleweed is still rolling across my yard with no response at all.

So another problem solved today,,,,,,,,,

I have been messing about with hose printing for some time now and at last I think that I have a good tool to print modern hoses with the old markings.
Today I managed to get it to print pretty cleanly on some new hose at the third attempt by changing out the paint formula and adjusting the tampon applicator.

The second and third yellow print is a top quality long lasting tyre paint thickened for the applicator and to stop bleeding.
