I’ve been deep down the car enthusiast rabbit hole since I was a young teenager growing up in California. I started off in a 1972 VW bug in 1996. In college I became a Honda nut, bought a 1995 Civic coupe and did basic bolt ons and suspension/wheel/tires. I went/have been down the Japanese sport compact rabbit hole ever since, owning 2 more civics and 2 different 2002 wrx’s. I’ve also had a 1994 Mustang GT and a 2001 bmw 330ci. I also got Salt Fever being out here near Bonneville, so I really dig the 20s and 30s early Fords, especially done up in traditional build style. My dad and brother are big Mustang guys and we’re all big fans of vintage Trans Am. I’d say, “being into GT40s” is a place where all car and racing enthusiasts end up. I will say I’ve never been that into exotics. I’m a “regular Joe”, husband and father of 4 who has always worked with a seriously tight budget. Owning an exotic was never in my financial possibility so I couldn’t get into them. So what the “hecht” am I doing in a GT40 forum? LOL I’m still trying to figure that out myself. I’ll blame my friend Corey, who owns a 1971 Restomod Pantera project with gen1 coyote, who introduced me to Paul Thon, who has an RCR GT40 here in town. Yesterday Paul mocked up pedals and seat and let me try his GT40 on for size. The worst thing that happened was I actually fit and decently well at that. So here I am. Corey says Dream big! So, I’m in full “save my money” mode and “research mode” and will lurk around and learn from you all.
