Progress gets made....if I did this right, the identifier photo shows the nearly complete monocoque which is on the way to being finished. My hope is to have this completed and united with the body by the end of this calendar year, and then to move along briskly with the wiring, plumbing, suspension and driveline. I will try to post photos, since some things will actually be happening.

Jim,

That's a real work of art. The closest to original I've seen. Must be nice working to original drawings!

Just out of curiosity, how do you turn the edges of the large circular cut-outs? They really add to the looks and stifness of the panels.

Your eyes are better than mine. I will ask the chassis fabricator how he did that. I don't know if it was done with a stamping die or a wheel or something like a PullMax. The tub is on its' way here, when it arrives I may be able to tell more easily.

Pat, I do not have the blueprints or the templates. David Brown in NZ has those. I think at one point he was thinking of selling sets, but decided not to. However, he could make you a set of chassis panels which you could then jig-weld up yourself, if you are so skilled (I am not, to say the least). I believe Chris Melia is getting a set from him.

Hi Jim

its nice to see your tub in one piece, its really good news as that means ours will be close behind it hopefully. Please keep us posted on all developments and if you need any assistance from this side of the pond just ask.
After all we have the same hill to climb
Ie. total build monocoque GT40 MK1 recreation.

Regards
Chris.

Thought I'd show a photo of my monocoque. Sorry about the poor picture quality it's a digital photo from my original analogue photo. Commercial digital cameras were only a twinkle in the eye of ant consumer electronics manufacturer when I started this project.
