Le Mans trip ideas.

My lovely lady and I are considering a trip to the Le-Mans 24 hour race next year. But local travel agents know next to nothing and a Google search comes up with camping sites and not much else.
Di's idea of roughing it is a five star Hotel. Is there any 4 or 5 star accommodation near the circuit, which maybe runs a shuttle to and from the circuit?
Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Seriously though they are probably all booked out ..........to agents & package tours.
I am not sure there are too many 5 star hotels but I am sure Dave will advise on that one!
There may be shuttles to/from the hotels but there is also a new tram service which has just been completed and I believe this has a terminal within the circuit.

You need to keep in touch with the likes of Tour Agents like Page & Moy, Grandstand Motor Sports or Just Tickets......but book early!

They do V8Supercars,MotoGP,F1,Nascar,Goodwood etc so should be able to help you out.

I plan on using them for Bathurst next year as they do the lot(airfares,accom,transfers,tickets,VIP passes etc).

Unfortuantely I'll be there as well. I feel a pissup coming on already.
Let me look into what I can find and get back to you.
I think you might have to have a few days in the UK as a build up to the main event though.

Paul that is pretty much the way it is with all big events, the agents block book everything and then set their prices based on supply and demand.

Think really ahead and block book a hotel ourselves. There has to be a
chance for something along those lines from say 2010 onwards with a gt40 members and wives (or whatever else you're into) formal feast / dinner dance on the Friday evening. Think about it guys.:idea:
