License plate light wire SPF

Needing a license plate light on my SPF. I have two wire harness female plug ends bundled and retained (over the mufflers) tied to the clamshell. The wires are Brown and Gray/black and Brown and Gray/Yellow striped. Are these for a plate or maybe back up lights? Not sure due to the different colors. Also have Brown and Gray/red stripe on the right side of car which is the rear roundel light. I know brown is ground. Any info on the Gray/black/yellow wires?

I have a wiring diagram and owners manual available for your GT40 if interested. Look for a yellow/brown. You should have backup light, center brake light and a number light wires back there.

Thanks for responding. I have an owners manual with the wiring diagrams but really can't track these wires down. Is your diagram same as the manuals?

No, my diagram is 22x34 and specific to either the MKI or MKII.

FYI: Our custom Owners Manuals are now supplied to SUPERFORMANCE with every new roller in electronic format. Not sure exactly how they are offered by the dealer to the new owners. And they only became available by the dealer after a specific order date. The Wiring Diagrams are not provided by the dealer and can be purchased directly from me along with owners manuals and diagrams for older cars. I also now offer the manuals printed and bound, and the wiring diagrams laminated. Same with addendum package

Quick shout out to @kram350 for an assist over DM, and just wanted to document addressing similar issue for SPF folks. I have the groovy wiring diagram, but it is not useful for this purpose on my SPF build—the wiring diagram calls out yellow/brown for license plate light and that doesn’t exist on my SPF MKII produced late ‘25. Regardless, I tried the quick connects closest to center rear clamshell and got nothing, so I pinged Mark directly and he pointed me to the left rear quick connects / harness as solution.

P2511 is good to go for VA state inspection now.
