I'm about 45 min from Lime Rock. I will be there for at least the 'through the villages' Historic parade on Thursday and the Sunday Concours. If you get here by mid day Thursday I would suggest going directly to the center of Falls Village, a quaint little New England village that is used as the parade destination. Cars from the race track, everything from ancient racers to Oscas to Porches to Lolas and such along with 30 or so classic 'invited' spectators machines leave from the track late afternoon (around 4pm I think but check with the track) and drive through the adjacent towns of Lakeville, Salisbury and Falls Village, ending up in the center of Falls Village, a sort of widened paved area where three roads meet. They park in this area as the roads are shut down for it. Then most head for the Falls Village Inn (right at the spot) for a beer. Food, a band and more are right there also. The cars are "chaperoned" by a Lime Rock track official car - they don't go too slow except for the village centers, no police escort or anywhere in sight. No registrations, plates or mufflers on the race cars. Pick out a good spot on the other side of the railroad underpass so you can see them coming up the road and through the 180 turn under the bridge. You can get right up to all the cars parked in the street.
Friday at the track is practice, racing on Sat and Mon. Concours on Sunday. The cars at the Concours are just amazing. There are also 'corrals' where like cars of a Marque park together.
If you send me a PM I will give you my cell # so we can meet if you like. I'll buy the first round.
