Your own slice of Heaven Paolo... :)

Talking about little pleasures - you have a model shop, correct?
If so - Can you supply a good 1/18th Mk1 GT40 model to Australia?
How about a 1/18th '69 Boss 302 Mustang (no Shelbys).
Metal preferred.

PM me if you like.

Sounds like Classic Car mag' may be worth a look. I'm dropping my subscription to Octane - too many chicken farmers in it.

Tim.

Paolo,

I got the magazine last weekend..... some nice cars in there.....

Im currently building a fujimi gt40 kit, I've also got a resin engine. I'm going a bit 'overboard' on the mods for it..... take a look under the 'kits' section... gives me something to do while waiting for my 1:1 scale model....

www.gt40.cc

removing the doors was fun..........not.......

eheh, I love the modelling sections in my forum:)

Ronaldin,
Unfortunately there arent really NICE models of the mk.1 in 1/18th scale.
The only I have (and sell cause anyway a gt40) was an old die cast done by Universal hobbies.
As a "nice " kit I mean something at the level of Exoto productions, but as u all wellknow they only make mk2, spider and mk4 version (including a wrecked one I hate also just to see at..).
From what I know there are no good models of the nicer mk.1 in 18th scale.

Yes, I also have just bought a Boss mustang , but its a race version from 1970 (welly models),nothing so special in that finished kit, but anyway one of the few boss available here.
I strongly suggest to find maybe something nearer u for such models, cause surely the expedition will cost more than the value itself of the models, and I know some very good modelling shops in perth.
I am making an own battle to educate italy and italians to the beauty of the ferrari terminator...u know:D

Doc,
Damn..your modelling skill is really impressive!!
Surely that is not at all your first model, cause too many nice and precise details done by the scratch!
The Fujimi base is the only une usable to make a nice model of the 40.
unfortunately i think the body lacks in some points (mainly on the car badass), but anyway when finished they look nice.
I have saved somewhere some monogram Ford engines from the 1980s kits somewhere in my spare boxes, including some nascar v8 engines, already finished with cable and wires:)perfect to fit inside a 40...exactly as in real ones:D

My hope is that company as THIS one:
http://www.modelfactoryhiro.com/shop/index.html
will take attention to our mk.1 (they already make a GTO that is simply impressive).
Otherwise we can also plan a new remoulded body (wider..surely) to fit on Fujimi kits.

..projects projects..

Paolo:D
PS.:..and today 917 Fujimi stock delivered:D...is a shame also sell theme:D

Hi Paolo,

Thanks for the heads up on the 917. I did not know there was a Fujimi 917 model available. Is it 1/24th scale?

Regards,

Al

Hi Al,
Yes Fujimi has a nice serie of historic classic (that I love) featuring more or less all RCR subjects (including a very rare 330p4)
The 917 are nice cars (nice as the gt40s mouldings), they only make the Kurtz version, in a lot of variants (more or less all teams).
The long tail version is availble in resin (should be profil24 or le mans miniatures...dont remember exactly now:)
Basically a good starting kit, that can be improved with a lot of photoetched parts (studio 27 ones), and many many details found in this forum.
The thread about 917 here insider are truly diamond pictures that HELPS a lot int he modelling of those wonderful cars.
Due to my BIG love also for her(as well as u all wellknow for the geetee..), I personally build the old Heller kit in 1/25 (?) scale, with over than 80% of schratchbuildings.(I saved only part of the body)
Was an ugly model kit, probably from early 70s, but when finished was simply stunning (and sold imediately ..cause the Gulf livery always gives emotions to customers:D)

I love those subjects, and also have the 917 in 1/18 scale (Huniversal hobbies...not so bad, gulf and martini livery).

Paolo:)
